Homemade Hemp Milk
As a person who can only tolerate small amounts of dairy, I typically opt for non-dairy milks. My first go-to is organic soymilk, which I buy at the store. But sometimes I enjoy the process (and the end result) of making homemade hemp milk.
This milk is extremely quick and easy to make with just a handful of ingredients (and honestly, you could make it with just hemp seeds and water, if you wanted). It’s high in protein, minerals, and omega-3 fatty acids to lower inflammation, support brain health, protect your heart and joints. This will keep well for a few days in the fridge when stored in an air-tight glass container.
I use this milk to make lattes, smoothies, pancakes and other baked goods. Or sometimes pour it over granola. Hope you love it!
Ingredients
1/2 cup hemp seeds
4 cups filtered water
2 dates
1 tsp vanilla extract
Dash of cinnamon
Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender
Blend on high for 2-3 minutes
Pour through a fine-mesh strainer or nut milk bag to remove the unblended bits and end up with a super smooth consistency
Store in a glass air-tight container in the fridge for up to 3 days
