Maple Granola
Everyone needs a delicious maple pecan granola recipe. I make this for my dad every Christmas, because he loves this flavor. You can munch on it as a snack, add milk and eat like cereal, top yogurt or oatmeal.
Ingredients
4 cups rolled oats
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
1/3 cup butter, melted (or olive oil)
1 cup pecans, walnuts, or other nut of choice
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional add-ins: dried cranberries, raisins, chopped dates
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 275 degrees F. Cover a baking pan with parchment paper.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl
Stir well to distribute the oil and maple syrup evenly through the oats and nuts
Pour the mixture onto your baking pan, and spread it out into an even layer
Place into the oven for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes
Remove from the oven. Allow the granola to cool completely, then store in air-tight glass jars.
